THE ROSE OF HUNGERFORD ... "Something for everyone" ...

On her way home - The Rose of Hungerford in Guyer’s Lock between Kintbury and Newbury during her trip from Newbury to Hungerford last week.

Guyer's Lock is one of 105 locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal between Bristol and the River Thames. Built between 1718 and 1723, it was constructed under the supervision of Newbury engineer John Hore (1680-1763) who is buried at St. Mary’s Church, Thatcham.
